Upcoming Webinar
for animal response teams
When animal response operations are activated during a disaster or emergency, the needs of the incident evolve rapidly.
Actions taken by animal response teams in the first hours, first days, and throughout the entirety of the incident can have a significant impact on outcomes for both animals and the people who care for them.
Join Celia Jackson, Humane World for Animals Program Director - Disaster Response, Animal Rescue Team to discuss animal preparedness and response, incident activation, lessons learned, and tips for best practices based on experiences supporting animal disaster response efforts across the country.

In response to the growing scale and frequency of multiple devastating disasters in California, community animal response teams across the state began collaborating in 2019 to facilitate mutual aid during times of crisis. This collaborative body was originally known as the California CART Collective (CCC).
In November, 2023, the CCC was renamed California Community Animal Response Teams (Cal CARTs), and became an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to further expand our mission.
